Volunteer
I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
Volunteer of the Month
Kascha
Featured Volunteer of the Month: May 2024
Volunteer Start Date: August 2023
Time Served: 250 Hours
Kascha received Catalyst’s Volunteer of the Year Award for 2023-2024. She says that she decided to volunteer with Catalyst because she wants to “break generational curses by helping survivors of domestic violence.” Kascha graduated from Chico State with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is now a registered nurse on the Telemetry Care Unit at Enloe Hospital.
Kascha’s favorite part of volunteering with Catalyst is providing outreach during community tabling events. She also provides support to the community by answering phone calls on our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline and by volunteering for on-call shifts to accompany survivors of sexual assault at the hospital as a trained Response Advocate. She has volunteered 64 hours of on-call response advocacy to the hospital. Kascha would like to become a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (S.A.F.E.) Nurse in the future to continue her role in comforting and supporting those impacted by sexual assault. We are very lucky and grateful to have Kascha as a part of our Catalyst team!
Fun Facts: Fun Facts: Kascha loves to travel and has been to 13 countries and every US state (except Alaska). She would like to visit Spain and Portugal next. She also enjoys reading novels in her backyard hammock, watching movies, eating snacks, and participating in outdoor activities (like camping, hiking, or swimming).
