Volunteer

I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Volunteer of the Month

Morgan

Featured Volunteer of the Month: February 2025

Volunteer Start Date: July 2024

Time Served: 160 Hours

Our intern Morgan is a senior at Chico State, studying Psychology with a minor in Family Relations. She is in the process of applying to Social Work-focused graduate programs with the goal of becoming a therapist specializing in abnormal psychology.

Morgan says “everyone deserves to be in a safe, happy, and healthy relationship. I’m proud to be part of an organization that advocates for these fundamental human rights.” She believes that DV+SA education is crucial to violence prevention and survivor advocacy in her community, and that the knowledge could empower people to seek support.

Morgan spends most of her volunteering time taking crisis hotline calls and helping HAVEN Shelter staff with projects, such as organizing donations and decorating the shelter for the holidays. Her favorite experiences have been assisting with the HAVEN Emergency Shelter Thanksgiving Dinner and doing outreach tabling at the Ramble West Brewing fundraising event.

Fun Facts: Fun Facts: Morgan has been playing water polo for eight years. This is her second year as president and captain of Chico State’s Women’s Water Polo Team. Morgan is a huge seafood fan, and her favorite restaurant is Aji in Sacramento. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, singing, and writing songs.

Thank you, Morgan, for all you do for Catalyst – we greatly appreciate it!

We love our volunteers!
