I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
Volunteer of the Month
Stephanie
Featured Volunteer of the Month: October 2024
Volunteer Start Date: January 2024
Time Served: 204 Hours
Stephanie recently graduated from Chico State with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. This fall, she’s continuing her education in Chico State’s Master’s program for Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice. Stephanie’s passion for supporting survivors of intimate partner violence stems from personal experience—several of her family members are survivors. Witnessing the barriers they faced due to a lack of accessible resources inspired her to volunteer at Catalyst and advocate for others in her community.
During her internship, Stephanie has answered countless crisis hotline calls, providing essential support to those in need. She’s also taken part in community outreach events, raising awareness about Catalyst’s services. Her favorite volunteering moments have been helping with special events for participants in the HAVEN Shelter, including their children. Stephanie was instrumental in the success of both the recent Water Day and HAVEN Olympics, where her hard work and dedication shone through.
From all of us at Catalyst: thank you, Stephanie! Your incredible volunteer efforts are deeply appreciated.
Fun Facts: Fun Facts: Stephanie is a music lover, with last year’s Spotify Wrapped clocking in at nearly 100,000 minutes of listening time! She also enjoys watching Korean and Chinese drama series and attending live concerts. One of her favorite foods is her mom’s homemade tamales, especially during winter. In her free time, Stephanie loves to relax by reading a good book or spending quality time with loved ones. She’s also currently learning Italian!
