Volunteer

I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Volunteer of the Month

Litzi

Featured Volunteer of the Month: May 2025

Volunteer Start Date: January 2026

Time Served: 236 Hours

Litzi is a senior at Chico State and is graduating this month with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Women’s Studies. She chose to intern with Catalyst because she felt our mission and values strongly align with her own. She was also drawn to the opportunity to engage in meaningful work that makes a positive impact in the community.

Litzi says that her favorite volunteering experiences have been providing community education at various outreach tabling events, such as health fairs and awareness events (e.g., Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Denim Day). She says she “really enjoys being able to go out into the community and connect with others.” She leads a weekly self-care group for Catalyst participants living at the shelter.

Litzi received the Up-and-Coming Advocate Award at this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Event. Catalyst staff have greatly enjoyed her positive attitude and willingness to do whatever tasks need to be done.

Fun Facts: Litzi loves live music and listening to music in general. She attends many concerts and tries to go at least two to three times a year. She already has a few lined up for later this year. She enjoys all kinds of food, but one of her favorites is Korean BBQ. She makes sure to always have some when she travels back to her hometown.

She spends her free time watching movies, reading, or thrifting. Litzi also likes to spend time outdoors and greatly enjoys the company of her family and friends.

Thank you, Litzi, for all you have done to support Catalyst and your community!

We love our volunteers!
