Volunteer

I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Volunteer of the Month

Morgan

Featured Volunteer of the Month: July 2026

Volunteer Start Date: January 2026

Time Served: 150 Hours

Morgan is a current Psychology major at Butte College with hopes to become a therapist specializing in somatic therapy.

When asked, why she chose to volunteer with Catalyst, Morgan responded:

“I wanted to be a part of a compassionate support system. I’m so grateful to contribute to a space where survivors are able to feel safe and experience joy.”

Some of her favorite parts of volunteering involve her interaction with participants at the HAVEN shelter, as well as providing crisis intervention on hotline calls.

“I find it very empowering and fulfilling to help someone feel heard and understood, possibly for the first time,” she said. “Making connections and having normal, casual conversations with participants is always worth my time.”

She has been active in community outreach work, tabling at many events such as Chico Pride Festival and Voices United’s Grill and Chill BBQ.

In addition, Morgan is a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team, which provides advocacy for individuals undergoing sexual assault exams at the hospital.

Fun Facts: Morgan has a passion for dance, and was a part of the Chico Community Ballet for five years. For a fancy night out, Morgan enjoys going to Grana in downtown Chico! She loves Thai food. She loves attending live music performances – her bucket-list artist to see in concert is Jack Johnson. Morgan is belay certified for rock climbing, even though she is afraid of heights. Her favorite way to spend free time is through outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or biking

Thank you, Morgan, for choosing to spend your time volunteering with Catalyst!

We love our volunteers!
